You need current New Zealand registration and an annual practising certificate, and aesthetic injecting must sit within your scope of practice.

- Your registration number and current practising certificate
- A current resuscitation certificate
- Professional indemnity insurance before your practical days
- For the Masterclass: evidence that you currently inject toxin and dermal filler
How practical days are run
Toxin is a prescription medicine in New Zealand. Everything about our practical days follows from that.
- Model screeningModels complete a health questionnaire before they are booked.
- Prescriber assessmentA registered prescriber assesses every model and prescribes for them individually.
- Informed consentModels consent in writing to treatment by a practitioner in training, under supervision.
- Direct supervisionAn educator is beside you for every treatment. Emergency equipment and hyaluronidase are always in the room.
- Aftercare and follow-upModels receive aftercare instructions and a review with the clinic.

Admissions questions
Can pharmacists and dentists train with you?
Yes, if you hold current New Zealand registration and a practising certificate, and aesthetic injecting sits within your scope of practice. Check with your regulator if you are unsure.
Do I need a prescriber before I start?
Not for training. On practical days our prescriber assesses the models. To practise afterwards you will need your own prescriber or standing-order arrangement.
Is the certificate an NZQA qualification?
No. You receive a certificate of completion and a signed competency logbook showing your practical hours, which you can include in your professional development record.
Does training count towards professional development hours?
Yes. The Nursing Council asks registered nurses to complete 60 hours of professional development over three years, and your certificate records your hours with us.
What if there are not enough models on the day?
We book models with cancellations in mind. If a model cancels and we cannot replace them, we offer you another practical session.
Can I bring my own model?
Yes. Your model is assessed by our prescriber in the same way as every other model, and treatment goes ahead only if it is appropriate.
